Scandal Round Double Paddle by California Exotics

Scandal Round Double Paddle by California Exotics is a dual-sided BDSM paddle designed for impact play with both soft teasing and intense strikes. The leatherette and silky brocade surfaces deliver different sensations from one tool, making it ideal for couples exploring dominance and submission together.

What's in the box, and what it does

Scandal Round Double Paddle by California Exotics combines two contrasting surfaces in a single balanced tool. The leatherette side delivers a sharper impact, while the silky brocade side offers softer sensation—giving you complete control over how each stroke feels. Built with double-stitched construction and a comfortable grip, this paddle sits between slappers and heavier impact toys in terms of force and adaptability.

The round shape and carefully balanced weight mean you guide intensity with precision rather than brute force. This matters for safety and pleasure: you maintain command throughout a scene, and your partner knows you're in control. The dual-layer design lets you switch sensations mid-stroke or alternate sides across multiple strokes, creating anticipation and variety within a single tool.

The features that matter

• Dual-layer impact surface: Leatherette delivers stinging sensation; silky brocade provides gentler teasing—both accessible from one paddle.

• Double-stitched durability: Construction withstands repeated impact without fraying, splitting, or loss of shape over time.
• Optimal dimensions: 11 × 5 inches provides enough surface for effective contact while remaining easy to handle and direct with precision.
• adaptable intensity control: Same paddle accommodates both gentle warm-up taps and powerful strikes depending on force applied and which surface you use.

Safe setup and use

Before your first scene, inspect the paddle for any loose stitching or damage. Establish a safeword with your partner beforehand—something unambiguous, not roleplay. Start with the softer brocade side and gentle taps to warm up the area. Aim for fleshy areas like the buttocks, thighs, or shoulders; avoid the spine, kidneys, and anywhere without underlying muscle. Build intensity gradually as your partner responds, checking in regularly.

Hold the handle firmly but not tensely, keeping your wrist relaxed. Let the paddle's weight do most of the work—you control placement and pace, not just force. Keep paddles away from the face, neck, and joints. If your partner uses the safeword, stop immediately and begin aftercare: remove any restraints, offer water and comfort, and discuss what happened. Clean the paddle after use with mild soap and warm water, then air dry completely before storage.

Is it a good match?

Care and storage

Clean the paddle after each use with mild soap and warm water, working gently around the seams. Pat dry with a soft cloth and air dry completely before storage—moisture trapped inside can damage the materials. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, which can fade the brocade over time. Keep away from heat sources. With proper care, the double-stitched construction will remain intact for years of use.

Background reading

Impact play sits at the intersection of sensation, trust, and psychological connection in BDSM. Understanding how different tools—paddles, Do You Love Spanking—affect the body and mind helps couples communicate desire and boundaries clearly. Consent, safewords, and aftercare remain non-negotiable regardless of the tool used.

What to expect

The leatherette side produces a sharper, stinging sensation that builds quickly, while the brocade side feels softer and more teasing. Most people find the brocade side better for warm-up and the leatherette side better for building intensity. The dual design means you can read your partner's response to one surface and adjust by flipping the paddle mid-scene.

First-timers often underestimate how much control the balance and weight give you. You won't need to swing hard to create sensation—precise placement and relaxed wrist movement deliver results. The paddle feels responsive to your touch, which builds confidence quickly. Many people report that the psychological element—the anticipation of not knowing which side is coming—becomes as important as the physical sensation.

Cleaning is straightforward: warm soapy water and air dry. The seams are well-reinforced, so proper cleaning won't weaken them. After extended use, check the stitching occasionally, though double-stitched construction means wear is minimal. Storage in a dry place keeps the materials from degrading over months or years.

This paddle suits anyone stepping from curiosity into actual impact play. It bridges beginner-friendly safety with enough adaptability to hold interest as couples grow more confident. People who struggle with heavier tools often find the balanced weight here allows genuine control, while experienced players appreciate the dual-surface design for scene variety.
