A closer look

Ovation Rave Clit Vibrator by California Exotics delivers a flickering sensation rather than steady vibration—rapid flutter movements that mimic the sensation of fingertips rather than a continuous buzz. The motor creates this teasing, building intensity across 10 speeds, starting gentle and escalating to rapid-fire stimulation. Its compact 7 cm design fits neatly in your palm, giving you precise control over pressure and angle. Unlike traditional clit pulsators, the flickering action creates a distinctly different sensation that many users find builds arousal more quickly than conventional vibration.

Built from medical-grade silicone, the vibrator is fully waterproof to IPX7 standard, meaning you can use it in the shower or submerge it entirely for cleaning. The memory function automatically recalls your preferred speed, so you don't need to cycle through settings each time. A travel lock prevents accidental activation when packed, and USB charging means no disposable batteries.

How to get the best from a clit ticklers and pulsator

Start on a lower speed to explore the flickering sensation and identify which pressure and angle feel best for you. The flutter action works differently than vibration—it's gentler at first but builds faster, so don't assume you need maximum intensity immediately. Use a small amount of water-based or silicone-based lubricant to reduce friction and let the flickering sensation shine; the smoothness improves the teasing effect. Position the vibrator head directly over the clitoral glans or hood and experiment with slight circular motions to find your sweet spot.

During longer sessions, let the memory function work for you—set your favourite speed and the vibrator will return to it every time you switch on. The compact size means you can hold it at different angles without fatigue, which is useful during partnered play. For comparison, vibrating penis plugs operate on different anatomy and serve a different purpose, but both benefit from starting low and building gradually. Clean the vibrator with warm water and mild soap after each use, dry it completely, and charge it when the battery runs low rather than waiting until it dies.

Care and storage

Wash the vibrator with warm water and mild soap after each use, paying attention to any crevices where moisture might collect. Dry it completely with a soft cloth before storage or charging. Store it in the included travel pouch in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Charge the battery every 2–3 months even if you don't use the vibrator regularly, to keep the lithium cell healthy and prevent loss of function.

What to expect

The flickering action feels noticeably different from standard vibration on your first use—many people report that the rapid flutter builds arousal more quickly than they expected. The sensation is gentler at lower speeds but intensifies dramatically as you move up the 10 speeds, so starting low and working up helps you adjust without overwhelming sensitivity. Most users find their favourite speed sits somewhere in the middle range rather than at maximum intensity.

First-time users often discover that the compact size and ergonomic grip mean they can hold the vibrator steady for longer without hand cramping, which traditional larger vibrators sometimes cause. The travel lock is genuinely useful—it's silent when engaged and prevents battery drain during transport, though the lock does require a specific button sequence so familiarise yourself with it before packing.

Cleaning is straightforward because silicone doesn't absorb moisture, but make sure the USB charging port stays dry; the vibrator can be submerged or rinsed, but the charging port should never be exposed to water. Battery life of 70 minutes is substantial for most sessions, and you'll notice the motor maintains consistent power throughout the charge cycle rather than fading toward the end.

People who return this type of toy usually prefer continuous vibration over flickering sensation, or they find pinpoint stimulation too intense for their anatomy. This isn't a flaw—it simply means the flickering action isn't suited to everyone's neurological response. Those who enjoy it tend to use it regularly and rarely express regret about the purchase.
